Remove stuck garden hose connector, install extension

I have an old hose bib, besides the old garden hose connector stuck to it, the hose bib leaks. Ideally I'd like to replace it but I'm not sure that's in the cards due to the difficulty. I think the only solution is to just remove the old stuck hose connector and install a new extender with it's own lever. I've tried PB Blaster and gripping pliers. The garden hose connector is on there good.
